Do the leaves look fresh and green, or dead, Brianj? If they look dead, then it's probably just that the rose has realised it's winter, and is dropping its leaves because of that - they're not evergreen.

It they look fresh and green, then I don't know, I'm afraid.

BrianJ -- Please don't spray. All you are doing is wasting money and soaking your plant and soil with poison.

Nothing is eating your roses. It is winter and all roses are deciduous and lose their leaves in the autumn. This mild autumn/winter has made the leaves last longer than usual and some are skipping the browning stage and just falling now that we have had some frosts at last.

Wait till late spring. If you get new leaves then - all is well. If you don't - it's dead.
