I went to the GC last week for compost for a bare root rose due to arrive in November and to be planted in a large pot. They had no JI no 3 but the above was half price so I bought that instead.
Has anyone else used this and would you advise adding anything to it, or use it as it is?
    Thanks.

I haven't used it but I used to use the Miracle Gro peat based compost which worked very well. Now Miracle Gro have gone peat free for ecology reasons and the government rules. They have done a lot of research. JI No 3 had loam in it as well as compost so I would be inclined to mix the MG rose compost with some garden soil, which is what they recommend anyway when planting in a border. Then top it up with the compost as a mulch to keep weeds down.
