I agree with Fern and "M", Woo. But for me there's not enough contrast or "bite" to the monochrome.......maybe it's the wrong image???:dunno::scratch::snork:

I'm going to go against the grain here and say I prefer the mono version, simply because there is a lot of colour noise in the first shot. If it was de-noised in your graphics programme, then a colour and mono conversion done again...it would probably be a completely different animal. Maybe the colour version also needs a slight saturation boost too, where you shooting into the sun or perhaps a glare reflection on the water at all?

            Steve...:)

I've a few shots like this myself, shoot towards the sun and it washes colour out of a photo, leaving behind a light almost sepia feel to the shot.

                            Steve...:)

I've ran Woos original gull shot through a noise filter and added some saturation to the colours (slightly and lightly), to make up for what the sun had drained from the shot. Here is the result.

                              Edited version

Woos original as in first post.

Change is subtle, light and realistic. Much better results could be achieved with a hi-res original.
