    That's a real shame :(

Was it secured to the roof and can you pin it back up, at least until it finishes flowering?

What a shame Capney. I would just prune it quite brutally. It will all be back as good as new.
What would worry me is - were there any wee birds nesting in there.
Have a look and see. If there are nests in there I would leave the tangled mess until the chicks have gone.

I have flipped it back... I should have trimmed it while it was over and easy to get at. We had a blackies nest last year, but nothing this year.
I suppose I could always drag it over again and give it good trim. Looks like it needs it.

 I reckon I would leave trimming till later Robert & enjoy its blooms this year at least.. As Aaron say, anyway you could secure it over the roof so it won't move again..?? Always such a shame when something like that happens.. I used to have a montana that completely covered an old plum tree till it looked like a huge montana Tee-Pee...!! Then the strong winds one winter toppled it over.. Shame as it was such a picture, no it forms a huge wave on the top of the fence..!!! :lollol:
