Haven't seen it yet Scotkat. I'm just about to go and watch the tape. But I would agree that last week was a bit disappointing.

I liked the Mexican jungly garden last week, haven't watched this week's yet, but will do so on Tuesday when it's repeated. I'll be most interested, having been to Oz and NZ.

Beautiful gardens in oz and n/zealand he doesn't go into enough detail about specific plants, how can anyone walk past a beautiful brugmansia and not mention it, those tree ferns in n/z were something else.

I agree Walnut - the bit that was missing was the names of individual plants and descriptions of them.

Around the World in 80 Gardens
    Tue 5 Feb, 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm 60mins

    Australia and New Zealand

Monty Don continues his extraordinary journey to see the world through 80 of its most inspiring gardens, and travels to Australia and New Zealand, two of the youngest gardening cultures in the world.

Setting out from Botany Bay, he uncovers a story of culture clashes and plant invasions, where the gentle habits of the indigenous people and the extraordinary natural landscapes have been replaced with imported plants and an English garden style.

In need of native plants, Monty sets off in search of the wild heart of New Zealand, where he revels in a magical rainforest garden created entirely of native plants. [AD,S]
