Does anyone know what this is please? Came out of a packet of mixed seeds I planted out this year. Flowers only open in the sun, around mid-day for a few hours. Also have same plant in light pink and dark pink. I like it but it's too big for the space it's in, so if it's a perennial I'll need to move it somewhere else for next year. I love the surprises you get with mixed seeds but I often end up with things planted in inappropriate places if I take a guess on, or don't recognise, the seedlings. (This packet really did give me a surprise - had two carrots growing in between my marigolds :oopss::lunapic 130165696578242 5:)

It looks rather like Evening Primrose. :)

Oooh, is it? Didn't know that came in other colours so didn't think to check that. Thank you. Not sure the leaves are right for that though?

Try Googling Mirabilis jalapa, LIF. The yellow is a bit of a 'red herring';)

Not Evening Primrose (Oenothera), but one of the Mirabilis species.

It's a very prolific seeder, so you need never again be without it!
