    Hi Chaps and Chapesses,

What can one do to avoid moss growinâ?? on the soil beds in our quite large green house?:flag: There is very little (none) moss in the channels of the roof as this has been removed and cleaned.

There may some algae as well, but mainly keen to get rid of the moss. Is this a fairly common problem, and is there summinâ?? we arenâ??t doing right? Does is need a bit more ventilation, you think??? Do we need to add something to the soil??

You thoughts and time learned knowledge warmly welcomed.

Improved ventilation and drainage (or at least avioding leaving the surface wet for long periods) would probably help as would a bit of lime. Mosses like damp acidic conditions.
If you have a really bad infestation you'd possibly benefit by removing the top inch of soil as it will contain moss spores.
