    Hi
Parts of my drive are covered in moss so I put down some weed killer but it didn't touch it, got any ideas on how I could get rid of it.

    Thanks

    Hi Morrey.
Hard surfaces(concrete/slabs) should be jet washed clean and treated with a Water Seal when dry. On gravel I use Rock salt borrowed from roadside Winter salt bins  and scatter it all over. Works for me ;)

    One word.

    Armatillox!

Fairly expensive but dilutes and goes a long way. Only drawback is the very strong and lingering smell of disinfectant but it will kill moss and algae overnight.

As the subject has been raised, I stripped out an area of lawn to make a central pathway where I have already put stepping stones. I was going to cover the area with gravel or shale but haven't had the time yet. But during the summer, guess because it's been so wet, a very nice cover of moss has grown,

My question is, will it harm the the lawn to leave it? My present lawn's already in trouble with moss but a different species with a kind of leaf and the grass looks very unwell. The ground is heavy clay and I'm thinking of stripping the whole lot up and improving the soil before laying some more.

But will the presence of the moss on the adjacent pathway be counterproductive!? Appreciate your opinions, folks.

Should be OK - as long as you keep the new lawn aeratd and fed. Moss thrives on compacted shady clay - as witness my lawn :D - but I too will be getting to grips with it this autumn and spring. When I first came here it was immaculate - but now mmmmmmm
