These glorious peonies prove there's more than just roses ;)

A few of the roses, I may post some more when I've finished sorting through, I took about 70 pics.

As you can see they don't appear to do much dead heading, also some effects of the recent rain are apparent.

A sweet pea and some of the aquilegias.

On investigating a worried sounding "cheep cheep" as we passed under one of the rose covered arches, we found this fledgling, it later flew off to join mama and the rest of the family

Finally our journey home took us through part of the New Forest where there were more offspring with their mums, but just a tad larger.

Joyce, (AKA mrs Mike) is actualy in the second pic, not very well captured though, the peak of her hat shades part of her face, and I've no idea who the bloke in the straw hat is, probably belongs to the lady a few steps behind him.
We always have a great day out there, even 3 years back when she had only been out of hospital about a week after major surgery, I pushed her round in a wheel chair.
