    Bit of an odd question.

I bought 5 bags of bark chippings last year to do an area with but never got round to using them. I opened them today and they've gone mouldy. Not mushy and gooey, but covered in white fungus, almost like you see mushrooms growing in.

Would they still be safe to use or do I have to get rid of them? They're not exactly cheap.

To me, that just sounds like a composting process happening.

We have just bought some and used it as a mulch. Ours had white stuff in too, ours was levingtons and it says on packet it may contain some 'white wood' as part of a natural process.

Use it happily and as it dries out it will disappear. :thumb:
