Moved Acer

I moved my Acer a couple of months ago, at the time of moving the leaves had been nipped by a frost but since I've moved it all the new leaves that got hit by frost came off and no new growth has appeared.
Have I disturbed it by moving it?
The trunk is brown which i know we all know isn't good, im just hoping someone will say it'll be ok haha

 

Probably a bit more than disturbed.
When you say moved it, did you dig it up with a large rootball and put in a large well prepared hole; watered in and watered regularly since or something else.
A photo would help.
Also try scraping a small amount of bark off starting near the top and work down until you find some green under the bark.
If there is some green under the bark it may reshoot with TLC.

 

I got a good rootball, preped the hole watered it well in with regular watering after.
I'll get a pic for you and also try some more scraping.

 

That's all good then, after moving it did you get cold drying winds? as that would upset it.
I lost a large shrub I moved at the end of Feb 2020 expecting a continuing mild spell; the cold winds that then arrived upset it to the extent of death.
