We've just watched Crocodile Dundee 2. It's ancient but still excellent. But there's a scene where the baddies first arrive in the outback. Dundee, who we later learn is an excellent marksman, shoots up their vehicles so they're all on foot. And so begins a good half hour or so of watching him stealthily one by one defeat the baddies. If he's such a good marksman he could have just took the baddies out, saving half an hour or so of movie time.

And Terminator 2. Where good terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger) temporarily defeats evil terminator by freezing him in liquid nitrogen. They just stand and watch as the fragments thaw and slowly recombine before the final lengthy battle. Arnie could have just ran over with a mop and bucket, the end

I stopped watching detective programmes long ago when I realised that a one hour max programme was being extended to 2 hours with lots of padding.

And what about all those programmes that have a break followed by a recap of what has happened 10 minutes ago.

    Mostly rubbish really.

I reckon Crocodile Dundee 2 is 108 minutes too long!

Not long after Dundee 2 was released, actor John Meillon who played Walter Reilly passed away, age 55. I think there was an age difference of 4 years between John Meillon and Paul Hogan, with Hogan being younger, Meillon looked considerably older for his age.

He probably looked older as he was, supposedly, an alcoholic and eventually died of cirrhosis of the liver. He was a good actor.

    Agree :blue thumb:

Don't forget Columbo! If he didn't stop to light a cigar and also remembered immediately what he was about to say so that he didn't have to walk slowly to the door, stop, turn round and then say what he remembered, the show would have been shorter. :)
