Hi, i am hoping to move a redcurrant bush from my front garden to the back garden and i read somewhere that they don't like their roots disturbed. Is this true? I'm just wondering if it will be okay to dig up and move and when is the best time to move it? :)

    Hey Pixie,

I don't like my roots disturbed either, but it keeps happening.

Wait till its dormant in the winter, won't notice it then. In the meantime take a few cuttings from it as insurance. Worse that can happen is that you end up with spare bushes.

Redcurrants do seem to be a bit woosy. I prefer Blackcurrants.

I have blackcurrants as well, but i was sensible and only put that in a pot, therefore, it transferred to the garden alot easier. Realistically, I'll be pleased to just get fruit, either black or red will do nicely :). They cost a fortune in the Supermarkets.
