I have a fern with huge leaves about 6yr old. I noticed that it has a grown a trunk underneath the leaves which looks like Dickensian Antarctia?. But the leaves dont altogether die back in winter and look coarser . What could it be and can I move it. Do tree ferns move easily?

If it is a tree fern the leaves only die back if its realy cold, and the roots are in its top, you could dig a big hole around it and transplant it, they only grow an inch a year.
