I expect to move house by mid April.
As the garden will be built over I plan to move the following:
    10 2 y/o shrub roses, 5 1y/o asparagus crowns, a 4y/o cordaline, a 4 y/o red maple, a 2y/o "any soil-boy-am-I-expensive!" rhodie, a v new tamarisk and if poss a couple of clematatises.
I would like to start potting them up for the move pretty soon as I dont want to move them whilst not dormant. And also there are so many!!
Any advice or comments for me?
    Many thanks and HI!

Make sure you take a good root ball trying not to disturb the roots too much. Rhodie, maple and Tamarix, I would put into acid soil as they do better. Clematis plants depending on what type they are, will do better planted a bit deeper incase they develop clematis wilt and also prune to second/ third good bud so as they won't get too stressed from being dug up. Asparagus shouldn't be a problem, they take moving ok as do the cordyline.Prune the roses by half to help with the move. Water well when you have potted them up if they are dry. [IMG]

id buy a bag of compost to get a better result, and make the move less stressfull, you can use half to pot up and half to plant
