moving lavender

    Can and when is the best time to move lavender to a new position

    Most plants are best moved in the dormant season, and I don't think lavander is an exception. I've moved plenty of plants at the right and wrong times, and, on the whole, if you're careful, make sure you have plenty of soil round the roots, and water in well, it generally works ok.

    I do the same I can never wait for the right time to move things if I did nothing would get done! :D

    I moved a couple of lavenders this year, because I'd not realised the place where I put them first had no sun. I think it was spring (not as early as march i don't think though) but I'm not sure.... as dendrobium recommends, I lifted them with plenty of soil round the roots, dug in some compost where they were going and replanted them immediately, watered them in well once planted, and they've flourished in their sunnier spot [​IMG]
