I have a lavender which has outgrown its place and I'm wondering if I can move it. I have a nasty feeling it might resent being moved, but would appreciate any advice on the subject.
    Thanks.

I've moved it loads of times without issue.

Cut the flowers off (and dry them if you're so inclined, then you can bring them in the house for their lovely scent). Dig it out, taking as much root as you can. Dig the destination hole a few inches deeper than it needs to be, and chuck some compost in the bottom. Plonk it in. At this point, it is ok if it is planted a bit deeper than it was before, so as to bury the bare wood at the base that is likely to have formed if its a few years old. Tuck it in, give it a thorough water, and job done.
