Moving Penstemon

Hello all

I hope you are well.

I have some Penstemon 'Burgundy' that are Planted close to a Ninebark 'Burning Embers'.

Now that the Ninebark is starting to grow again after a Hard Prune Last Year due to Damage, the Penstemon are too close, as can be seen here:



I am looking to move the Penstemon into the empty space to the left where a Hydrangea was removed as it did not work in the space.

When would be the best Time to move the Penstemon?

I am assuming that it is too late now so maybe Autumn?

I'd give them a good soaking the night before and then move them with as much undisturbed root ball as possible.
Then another soaking in the new position, then water only when they have dried out a bit.

Well, I would, but wait and see what others think.
Its just like moving any perennial, a bit late but I think it would work.
