Moving Wisteria?

Hello all, question time again!

I have a wisteria in a container, since planting I have learned this is a no-no!


When is the best time to transplant it into the ground?

 

They are fine in a container for several years, and they are tough as old boots. Transplant in the autumn I would say, and don't worry. They don't like wet feet or very alkaline soil though. I have done this sort of thing several times with wisteria up to 20 years old (big pots).
