Ive been reading quite a few posts on here, about when is the right time to mower the gardem, but i am really confused some people are saying you can mower this time of year, others are saying its not safe to mower. My lawn does actually need mowing, cany anyone shed light on this topic please.

It's okay to to do it with a few provisos. Not if it's frosty or water-logged and not too short. Best to set the mower baldes high for now.

I mow mine several times during the Winter (when it starts to look "shaggy") but I wait until the weather is mild.

No frost forecast the following night, daytime sunny (so grass not too wet), probably 5C daytime although 10C or more would be better.

I agree with Kristen. I mow mine whenever I think it needs it as long as it's not too soggy or there's no frost promised.

My main lawns I still keep cut quite low but the others I mow fairly high. I'm usually cutting all through the winter but our garden is in a very dry part of the country. In the winter I mow when there has been a few hours of sunshine.

I find that a good set of guinea pig shears are the best to go over the grass with.

Cranked the new mower up at the weeknd on a part of the lawn (well, moss) as a test area, went well but going to wait a few more weeks until I attempt the rest of it.
