I have various water tubs at the allottment and the water near the bottom is quite discusting, I have been putting it on the veg, potatoes, parsnips, Squash but only using the cleaner for strawberries. I can't see any problems but wondered if anyone had more detail on what problems may occur.
The problem is water is very scarce at the allottment site and I am trying to clean out the water butts without wasting any of the water.

I normally see a few swimming things (not people) in the water butts as well.

    Thanks

    Dave

The only thing I'd be worried about with standing water in hot weather is legionnaires disease, though in practice I've never heard of anyone catching it.

    Thanks Clueless1
I guess the problem of disease will be lost through evaporation and drainage through the soil!!

    Thanks again

I gather the big risk from legionnaires is when you breathe it in, showers, aircon, anything that distributes it into the air, so probably not a problem in allotment cisterns.
