Hi all I bought this pot like this a couple of years ago. It has a Acer and Muehlenbeckia. This year the Muehlenbeckia seems really brown at the roots. Could I cut back to stimulate new growth? I seem to remember buying in in February and the centre I bought it from said it had just had a trim. Thanks in advance
I've not grown it before and don't know much about it either . Looking at the rhs website it states its in group pruning 11 ( prune after flowering ) , if you are not bothered about flowers I'd say cut back early spring .
Yes it seems to be a tricky one @Perki . It states they like full sun but the acer its planted with doesn't so I have it in the shade where it seems fine but have never seen flowers (probably why) I did think of trying to separate them. Anyway it's getting a haircut thanks as always
Hi jasmine Muehlenbeckia does not need special pruning, but tolerates it well and grows quickly. The stems are pruned to the desired length in the spring-summer period. You can also pinch the tips of the shoots to stimulate branching so that the plant is lush and densely deciduous. Read more at: Muehlenbeckia | Home Care & Types | Toiib
