    Hi,

I've ordered some Muscari Armeniacum Blue Grape Hyacinth's and i've just realised they won't arrive till 19th November. I'm a bit concerned that it maybe too late to plant them as i've read October is the best month to plant these with them being small bulbs. We are also expecting snow/frost up here in Yorkshire apparently in mid November.

    Any ideas or tips?Ta

It's fine to plant later, I don't plant my bulbs last year till late December with all the snow etc

What type of blubs were they? i've read crocus, hyacinth and muscari should be planted early as theer roots do not establish if the frost arrives. Tulips are fine till late December.

All of what you've mentioned, crocus can get a bit dry so pop in them in a tray of water overnight to help rehydrate them

Hi they are winter hardy but you can plant them in pots
fill a pot loosely with potting mix. ,put bulbs side by side (not touching), pointed end up, then.Cover loosely with soil, leaving the tips of the bulbs exposed,.Water thoroughly
then move the container to a cool, dark location such as a basement, garage etc to give your grape hyacinth in a pot time to put down roots and grow i foliage – it won’t actually flower until the spring and when it does put them in partial or full sun

Yes, hopefully they will arrive before end December. Do you know of any stories where they haven't bloomed because they were planted in late nov?
