All of a sudden mushrooms seem to have popped up all over my lawn. Can anyone suggest how these can be removed/ killed off?

Could be edible if that gives you a clue :D

Seriously though if the lawn is established, and they are smallish and in a vague ring shape they are probably Fairy ring funghi which are harmless. If they are great big thingys they won't be but may be saprophytic/commensal on shrubbery or trees nearby. If they are small brownish pathetic little critters they are also IMHO harmless. Mow them off and look elsewhere if they return - it will only be for a while.

Send a piccy - then we'll all come round to pick them for you [IMG]

And if they are magic ones then you may not wish to mow them Gardener Clare but rather harvest and sell on the local black market...

Just joking really :D but I do find plants with hallucinogenic properties very interesting for their biochemical makeup rather than for personal consumption.

No, I'll stick to this [IMG]

    Kind regards and good luck...

I have mushrooms growing too. Unfortunately not the magic kind lol. They are white ones and keep popping up every now and then. Is there anything I can buy to stop them???

I've suddenly got mushrooms on part of my lawn. They looked very much like field mushrooms so I tried a bit just to confirm. having suffered no ill effects I ate some more and they are real mushrooms. [Don't try this if you haven't any experience of mushrooms]. I don't want to get rid of mine, I'd like more!

Just stamping on them before they produce spores will probably work though.

Every year at this time mushrooms grow from the remnants of the composted manure I put down around the banana clumps. I keep a look-out for small white 'beads' which appear during the day and rapidly expand in a matter of hours. Then I'm out at first light to pick them for breakfast. I cut about 500gms. the other day - they were very tasty and there'll be plenty more to come over the next few weeks

Fancy my lawn is lovely but for the mushrooms and the weeds it did say feed and weed it fed it alright but the weeds are still there. Have you not seen the advert for if the one with the frog singing that song Cheer up sleepy Jean but he has made is own words up to it, leave it for a few days and your lawn will been lush green and weed free. :D
