Music of your youth

I thought this might bring about some musical enlightenment for all. How about we pick out a cracking good song from our you, and stick a link to it on here? But instead of just posting a link to a song just because you like it, how about we explain what we think it was about and/or what inspired it.

I'll start.

Sigue Sigue Sputnik - Love Missile (I think the title was supposed to offend the 80's folks).

We must remember that when this song was made, we lived under the paranoia of the cold war, a propaganda war between the USSR (Russia and her cronies - now fallen out) and NATO. Rumours had it that spy satellites could see what you were having for your dinner, in your house, on a cloudy day. And that each side had top secret fully autonomous weapons systems pointing at each other at all times. Indeed there was one incident where a computer malfunction on our side nearly started WW3, when NATO allegedly scrambled fighter jets and armed long range ballistic missiles in response to an erroneous signal that suggested that USSR had done that to us, and USSR apparently went onto full alert because they detected that we were attacking, when in fact nobody was attacking anybody, it was a malfunction in our early warning systems.

Anyway, while most people were overwhelmed with paranoia, some people saw how ridiculous the whole situation was and chose to mock the paranoid in the name of musical entertainment. Hence this video:
