Thanks Roders:gnthb:, still my favourite Marmalade track, despite the corny video. (Of its time though). Very tight harmonies, as good as the best of Crosby, Stills and Nash. Incidentally, Marmalade's only number one was Obla di obla da!:yho:

Thanks Victoria, You're very flattering. I do feel as if I've been around a long time - birth or Beatlemania, the glorious 60s the the not too bad 70s, well some of it anyway. Never saw Marmalade play but did see the Love Affair, who were prety good, and Amen Corner, who were excellent. Nostalgia aint what is use to be!

    :) Hi, Chris

I lived in Alabama in the 60s/70s, 20 miles from Tennessee and saw the likes of Chad & Jeremy, Bobby Vee, Dr Hook, Three Dog Night, The Animals, Climax Blues Band, Tom Jones, Kiss, Frankie Vallie, Emerson Lake & Palmer (walked out of it) .... the list goes on ... those were the days my friend (a particular favourite of mine whom I never saw) ....

T'other half was a Beatles/heavy metal/rock fan ... I was Country & Western/Folk so ended up seeing most of what he liked :( .... becaue he worked in the biz and we always had backstage passes.

Never saw Rainbow though ...... :)

I am in awe of the depth of your experience. So many bands in such a golden era. All I can claim is to have met jeff Beck a few times and be the proud owner of one of his guitars.

I have copied/moved these posts from another thread as I thought it would be good to start this up again and see what people like ....

I basically prefer Country/Folk music but my preferences change with the years and currently favour Alternative/Acoustic/Folk Rock such as Rob Thomas (Matchbox Twenty), Three Doors Down, The Killers, Secondhand Serenade, and the Script. A real favourite of mine is Jack Savoretti.

Here is one of my favourites ...

Hi folks. I too am a music fan :thumb: I like lots of different styles, but I guess my favourites would have to be Rock (including prog), Blues and folk. My all-time favourite band would have to be Genesis(not the newer edition). Bands like The Who, Camel and The Beatles are way up there too in my book. For Folk, my hero is Roy Harper and for Blues, there can BE only one, yes, you've guessed it, Gary Moore. 'What about Clapton' I hear you cry. Well, he's ok, but he doesn't excite me. Horses for courses. One tune I've always loved is this enjoy :)

Oh Rod- that song, like so many songs I know and loved because I learned them at my Mums knee,

This is one of my particular favourites- although I picked this one up myself, in it`s own way it reminds me of being a very little girl.

Such a lovely and light track but sad too.

My favourite band and my favourite song
