We've got 4 male and 2 female blackbirds who are daily visitors, but I was chuffed to bits a couple of days ago to see this one making a return visit. I saw him several times last summer, but he hadn't been back for months. Great to know he's still around.
Not a great pic though as it was a very quick snap.

We used to have a couple of these many years ago.

First there was one with the white feathers in the tail, we used to see him regularly for quite a few years. Then there was another with a few white feathers on its body. I always wondered if it might have been an offspring of the first one.

Yours has a lot of white on it. At least you can see if it is the same bird that returns.

the white is caused by a failure in the feathers pigment cells. This could have been caused by shock ,disease ,injury, or even old age ( you might be feeding him to well ! ) I think its only black featherd birds that it happens to .I m sure an unbalanced diet can also cause this there was a pair of crows that used to feed on the bread people threw out for the ducks day in day out at the park and one of them also had white feathers and im sure all the bread was the reason behind this.
