Not what your average allotment looks like, but I did have some veg earlier on, this is it now waiting for the frost to cut it all down for this year.

I'd be a bit concerned leaving those lovely specimens around on my allotment in case they got pinched. You must live in a very secure area.

Nobody pinches plants round here, I think I'm the only one that grows anything, on purpose that is. :D
Must admit though it is well enclosed, so is reasonably vandal proof.

Pete. what's the small one that looks like a fan?
Saw one like that on T.V. show"Columbia road".
Fancy one myself and it's small enough to protect in winter by the looks.

The one in the pot you mean?
Thats Washingtonia Fillifera, its not entirely hardy but a couple of them came through last winter without too much damage. It grows at a fair old rate for a palm, that ones only four years from seed, I think. If they survive they get really big, a better slower and totally hardy fan palm is Trachycarpus.

I'm quite boring Pete 20 + years Tenerife it's nice and warm there in the winter and everything is cheap. little tax. there are many banana plantations there and they cover them over to protect them from the sun and [trade]winds. Somebody wrote on a rock Tenerife land of Lava and underneath someone wrote Tenerife land of concrete. For scenery UK no contest.
