Hi Steve, very informative update as usual with some good photos especially of the strawberry and the cabbage plant. How do you grow them so big?:)

I am drying off the tops of a couple of strawberries that I bought form the supermarket last week and that tasted nice and sweet, for once so I am going to see if I can grow my own from seed:thumb:

Glad that your open day was a success and that the weather stayed fine for you all and I hope you have raised plenty of money for your allotment projects:thumb:

Looking forward to your next update next week and I see you have had your 100,000 visitor to your site,Congratulations:):thumb: and it shows what a good site it is:cool:

Hi and many thanks for your repies, our very first Open Day was held last Saturday and was a huge success, we raised nearly £600 which is a fantastic amount. We have since learnt that our application for funding of a Compost Toilet Block with Disabled facilities was successful which means that it should be in place by the end of the Summer, next is a Clubhouse/Classroom, regards Steve.

Plotty I have looked at your wonderful website before and thought I would like to have a go at tahat. We went to allotments in our village last week and walked away with one to say we are excited is an understatement ok it's not the best site as its sloped and at the bottom it is water logged in winter but we are getting stuck in and even thinking about taking over the one next door!

Any advice for a newbie? Thanks in advance Hel.xxx.

Steve, well done in raising such a good amount from the open day,the composting toilet will come in very handy {we have to use the hedges} and the Clubhouse/Classroom will come in handy for both the allotmenteers and the school children though if you have a bar in the club house I don't think much gardening will be done..hic:D:thumb:

    Good Luck with the fundraising:)
