Like everyone else who has bought a camera recently I trying to get used to handling and becoming "one" with mine. So yesterday with the weather looking quite reasonable I decided to drive down on the Coast Road [A55] and have a slow nice day out.
On the way to Conwy is the famous St Aspah "Marble Church" which is actually a Cathedral. It's a very pretty building with a lot of history tied to it and is visible as you drive along the A55.

Then it was on to Conwy and this guy was sitting on the root of the car next to me when I parked up. The Gulls have no fear of Humans and he sat on the roof and wrote me off as no threat.

The Arch Way leading to the shore and walks along the walls.

There's some more of the journey through the mountains but this was just a slow relaxed trip without me really searching for scenes to photograph.

Thanks Steve for the comments. I'm still a little frustrated because I know I can, and have in the past, done so much better regarding composition, light control, etc but the underlying purpose of the trip was to use and get to know the Pentax K5 better. I shot RAW PLUS Jpeg this time instead of just RAW as I was aiming to get the pics onto GC asap. The light did get a bit tricky at times especially in the Mountains but I'm starting to remember some tricks of the trade...so to speak.

Madahhlia, it never rains in Wales!!!:heehee: I hope you have a good time while you're there anyway.
The next trip to Wales will take me to Conwy again but I will take the road back through the Mountains from Conwy instead of Bangor, as I did last time, as there are some even more beautiful views with some water features:love30:

Yes, they are beautiful mountains, Penny. You have to stop and just look at them when driving through. There are some really great and breathing taking views right through the mountains, and I will be going back via another route to take some more shots of them.:snork:

I still prefer the image below to the overly contrasted image that replaced it, and it is an excellent subject for a black & white conversion too.

Why, thank you Steve, for your continued interest in the Thread. As you know your opinions are always of interest and debate, and for my part I am of the opinion that us amateurs should stick together.
However, I had originally locked off the Thread so I will return it to that state.:snork:
