Last year I sowed a few Echiums Pininana.
They germinated well and became big plants this year.
Unfortunately they died one after another
I potted them up in home made compost. Gave them a sunny spot and not too much water.
It seems that the roots are rotting down.
Where am I going wrong ?:cnfs::cnfs:
I have only one left, please give me advice.

I thought they were imposible to kill, other than hard frost.

Starved and drought ridden, they look rubbish, but still survive.

Not tried water logging though, I guess that could kill them.

Other than that it could be a root disease, but I personally have not come across it.

    Hi Korne,
I sowed a few this June and they are now about 60cm high in 200mm pots, I was planning to over-winter them in the greenhouse and then plant them directly into the ground for their second year. Are yours still in the pots for their second year??

    Hi labrador,

Summer 2007 I sowed Egiums.I planted 4 of them in pots this spring. 3 died already. They were about one meter high as they died. I also planted two in the garden. They have grown not as big as the ones in the pot, but they survived and look healthy.

Hi Korne I'll certainly keep a close eye on mine. Must say they are doing well, this one was taken 8 weeks apart.
