Had a lovely lunch today with peas and rocket from the garden.
The beans aren't quite ready yet, though.

    Well done you!

My peas are rubbish this year - pathetic! But they have produced about half a dozen pods! Enough for a spoonful, I reckon!

I'm with you Daisees – we tried dwarf peas this year as we've only a tiny garden. We've got a few pods and they are delicious but in terms of quantity I'm quite disappointed...

oh well – it's all a learning curve!

Sorry folks but mine are doing fine. Froze a margerine tub full the other day. Think I'll harvest a few more today. Still have some in the freezer from last year too!

Enjoy your peas Leonora. Fresh peas are just lovely.
I never cook mine, I just eat them raw with the salad.

Some of my peas are ready now. They aren't the most abundant crop but taste delicious. Realised only after planting them out that they shouldn't be right next to shallots and garlic - oops.

I find that if you leave them just until the green pods start to fade slightly ie lose their green intensity they are just about ripe. Leaving them any longer I find they tend to taste dry and not so sweet.

A couple of my veggie books state that peas and beans don't do well next to onion/garlic/chives etc, and you should plant them apart. I don't know why though...
