It's been a lovely warm sunny day here today.
Had a day in the garden after a week away on holiday.
I haven't been out much as the weather as been to cold and the fish have been hidden down the bottom of the pond.
My fish are not looking to good today.
    One dead 2 with ulcers.
I have taken the dead one out and put the 2 with ulcers in the small pool and treated with fungi and ulcer treatment.
I'll just have to wait and see if they survive or if any more die.

Would be a really good idea to test your water for ammonia, nitrites, nitrates and PH. Illness in fish is almost always caused by poor water quality. Are your pump and filter working ok?

Yes the filter and pump as been on all through the winter.
I have had to take 2 more fish out and put into the small pond.
1 with an ulcer and 1 that was lying on it's side but seems to have picked up now.
Thats a total of 4 ill and 1 dead.
    The rest seem fine.
I'm going to get the water tested today.

    Thank you.
If you ask that would be great.
I have tested the water in both ponds and it's fine.
Both have pumps and water filters with uv

You can just see one of the ulcers on the head one of the fish.
The other two have them on their sides.
And one fish as no signs but was on it's side, but seems o.k now.( not in the photo)
I'm treating the water with an ulcer/ bacteria/ sore treatment.

The rest of the fish in the big pond seem alright so far.

net each fish out one at a time . get some sea salt , im not sure how strong you should make the bath mixture up (look it up) bath each fish in the satly solution for about 10 15 mins . of course cleaning the net and the bath each time. salt is a good control for fresh water viriouses as pest quickly die in salt . carp can handle a salt bath , but not for too long. DONT USE TABLE SALT USE SEA SALT

I'm still having problems with my sick fish.
The one seems to be getting much worse.
The ulcer on it's side is now a hole.
I have given it the salt bath and it did seem to pick up a bit .
I don't think there is much hope for it though, I think it's gone to bad.
The others seem a little better.
They are not eating to much.
But seem to be more lively.

How often do I use the sea salt bath?

You can buy a pond medication called Pimifix and also one called Melafix. These two work well together and are made of all natural ingredients. I'd give them a go if I were you.
Also you say that the water tested fine. Were your ammonia and nitrite both 0 and what was your nitrate reading?

My testing kit is done by colour and it was spot on.
I also had it tested at the garden centre , just to make sure.
I'm using An Ulcer and open wound treatment.
It's for damaged body tissue, external ulcers and to stop bacteria.
It seems to be working on the other fish but I really feel one is to bad to save.
    It contains
    Formaldehyde.
    Sodium Chloride
    Magnesium Sulphate
    and Allantoin
    It's powerful stuff.
    You have what the dosage.
