Since I have been asking a few 'HELP' questions on here, I thought I'd post some piccies of my project....
At the start (after cutting back a little over grown grass) check out the mile a minute on the back fence - total nightmare!!!

After cutting back the mile a minute, the laurel tree cut down and dug up, and a lot of weed killer on the lawn

Decking laid, turf put down (we gave up on the mud flat (once all the weeds were killed, we had no grass left!!) and the bush on the right is about a third of the height it was. Only shrub left is the camelia and the garden looks 10 times better!! A great starting point!

3 weeks till I can put in the flower beds and start planting and this weekend am sorting out the pots on the decking [IMG]

Nice little plot you have there Mztrouble and as for the decking? well I'm a big fan of it nothing looks as nice and neat as a bit of decking.

The cutting down of the Leylandii hedge has made such a huge difference to opening up and giving your plot much needed sunshine, not everyone likes Leylandii but I always think it's a very neat and tidy hedge and only needs cutting a few times a year.

Not sure what the guy is looking at plants growing or the cat wandering around the hedge bottom! :D Hel.xxx.

yes, lots of work! I had some in between pictures but its just a lot of mud!!! couldn't turn the last one round, soz!

It would be a nice hedge, but its next doors and been allowed to grow so much we cut alot off the top but couldnt cut it back or we'd just have been left with a big dead hedge on our side. Its a bit annoying because the garden is small, and ideally, we would have liked to be able to gain more space - hey ho - work with what you have eh?

As for the chap, thats my other half keeping an eye on the cats first trip in the garden!

I shouldn't worry too much hacking back that hedge as although it may seem bare your side once it's done it wouldn't be bare your neighbour's side (if you get my meaning), if you did decide to hack your side back you could always put up some nice wicker screening as this will let light in but also give you and your beloved the private little garden you might need and your cat should love it too!Hel.xxx.
