Hi folks. Just thought I'd share some pix and show the the progress so far. This is the decorative part of the garden, the rest having been turned to veg. This part of the garden will be in two parts, first part (nearest the house) being a 'cottage garden' and the second part more of a 'tropical' feel. Anyway, we decided to start on the cottage part first as I had a somewhat clearer vision of what I/we wanted to achieve. At some point in the past, a previous owner thought it would be a good idea to build a patio some 30ft in length. Well, wouldn't have been so bad, but he also thought that raising it up 2ft would make sense (?). Anyway, after some deliberation, me and Mrs freddy decided to get rid of it and remove all the rubbish underneath to get it back to it's normal level. Ok, in the first pic you can see the general layout as it was although we'd already made a start. We had to get rid of that wall, and believe me, THAT was solid ! Second pic is viewed from the other end[IMG] [IMG]

Today, we lifted the slabs and put in place some natural stone slabs that just happened to be lying around in the garden. Will post some more pix as and when. Cheers...freddy.

Hi folks. It actually took quite a while to get to this stage, the main problem having to shift probably 7 or 8 tons of soil and rubbish. This involved bagging it up, wheeling it down the alley to put it in my trailer, then taking it down the tip. We must have made 30 trips down there ! I take my mrs to some nice places don't I :) Overall though, we haven't done too bad, considering we have completed several projects already, such as the orchard, veg patch and greenhouse. When we moved in, in last December, it was something of a jungle, but now it's looking something like. Still a long way to go, but getting there. Cheers...freddy.

Hi again folks. Pal, the wall I was referring to is the small one at the front, but you're right about the re-pointing, it's on the 'list'. Don't worry LMRR, I'll share some pics of the veggy bit sometime soon. Cheers...freddy.
