... any year since I got it. Perhaps I am being a little impatient for it is only three years since I bought it - at around 1.5m high. It is certainly growing, its leaves and branches are burgeoning, but not a single yellow droplet.

I wonder if any one out there could advise me about this.

Please accept my apologies if this has been recently discussed, I did try a search with no results..

    Yours hopefully jg.

I also have a Laburnum(not sure which type) its about 4ft high, looks very healthy and growing well, but same prob as you ..no flowers as yet. Also should I cut the top to encourage more branches(its just a long stem at the moment)I look forward to reading any replies you get. maybe we are just being too impatient for our flowers!!

Give it time gazania, when it does it will be worth it.
Its probably making lots of vegative growth, maybe the soil is rich, it will flower but in the meantime dont prune it, that will encourage the vegative growth at the expense of flowers.
One other thing, they do like a sunny position.
I wouldn't cut it Poppy, unless its unstable and rocks in the wind.

thanks, pruning stopped as of right now! Should I take out any emerging branches that are growing the wrong way, or just leave the whole thing...

I think it'll be alright to tidy it up a bit, but dont do too much.
