I thought I would make some homes for wildlife in my garden and me and my hubby made this:

Hope to get him to make me a hedgehog house too. I would make all my own stuff but due to my lack of concentration I'm not allowed to use the power tools :( Tho I did get to cut up all the bamboo for the ladybird house but under close supervision :thumb:

Lovely piece of work Little Miss.I don't think it will be long before all the ladybirds start to move in to their new home and by making your own as oppossed to buying one you have saved yourselves a few pounds. All credit to you and your hubby:thumb:

PS I am not even allowed to use a tin opener in our house in case I do myself a nasty mischief:rolleyes::D

You could actually go into business-looks awfully professional to me. The great part of this one is that because it has holes of different sizes it won`t just allow ladybirds, but other good bugs too.

I hope you get your hedgehog hotel and should you need food to tempt them in by all means come and collect as much slugs and snails as you like from my back yard!

It didn't cost me anything. The wood box is old pallets we had lying around and the bamboo and the wood was all given to me or came with plants I've bought. There's often old pallets on freecycle and the bamboo canes.

Thanks everyone. I hope I get lots of garden friendly bugs move in soon.

ooohh I didn't realise u were in Dorset Slinky. I've got some pallet wood left and some of the wood log bits if you want it? PM me
