Blueroses, Why do those eggs have a chopped parsley garnish? :hehe:

Nice photos. Who looks after your snake family when you go on holiday?

Chopped parsley indeed :hehe: its sphagnum moss. An answer in brief is that I
dont go for long holidays but when I have short breaks my sons look after them :)

Phew Blueroses for a minute there I thought their 'good home' might be with Heston Blumenthal :hehe::hehe:. I don't go on many long holidays either. I find them too stressful.:)

One thing about snakes is..... once adult, they only need feeding every 7 -10 days or even up to 14 days, as that's what they would do in the wild, so it's just a case of giving them fresh water every couple of days and poop scooping ( nice ...... not ) :euw:

Sorry this is 'late'. Wow Blue, I have to say you have a good collection there. I'm sure that you feel as loving about your snakes as some of us do with other animals/???? (can't think just now:) ). Anyway, I've known or heard of a few people that treat their snakes much better than they (the snakes) would be living in the wild - like the rest of us!lol.
What about live food? Do yours eat that? Nice to see they have a bit of room - must mean you have to give over alot of your 'habitat'!
Poop scooping for snakes - Ummm never thought about that. Can't be too bad though can it? Not smelly? Sorry folks - I'm just interested!

    cheers

    hello Borrowers :)

I do care for my snakes but not in the same way as my cat I guess. Snakes dont seek or need affection but their needs are different. They dont make a noise, they dont need vast space, in fact they feel more secure in semi confined spaces. Mine have large vivariums but with plenty of bark hides to rest under. They like nothing better than to coil under them with their heads or even just their noses looking out. In the evenings ( they are nocturnal ) they may come out and wander around their enclosures or bask under their heat light. I find them fascinating. Handling them is therapeutic and relaxing. No I dont feed live. As to the poop, they all have to do it Im afraid lol, and it is as stinky as any poo might be expected to be. :hehe: Only thing is , as they eat so infrequently, the 'presents' tend to be too. Keep their homes clean and there is no odour at all :)

What an interesting thread with plenty of great pics and info. :gnthb:

Thanks for asking borrowers, they are the sort of questions I would have asked. :hehe:

We see the occasional corn snake in the garden over here, but during the daytime, so guess some of them must like to have a daytime slither. I like watching them and admiring their beautiful markings.

    Thanks for sharing blueroses.
