I asked my neighbour what this is as it is 30" tall and seems to like it cooler. Perfect for autumn. The leaves are stiff unlike coleus. She doesn't know what it is and encouraged me to take cuttings and I jumped at that :)

I think it is a coleus. Maybe Solenostemon scutellarioides 'La Rambla'? There are a lot to choose from!

I have lots of coleus but none have leaves this stiff or shape. Let me get a close up.

@BobTG those do look quite similar. I've got some cuttings and hope I can grow plants like those!

Thanks for the heads up :love30:

Is it a begonia for example something like Begonia Escargot
Dibleys sent me a catalogue recently with a lot of begonias in and they were famtastic or wierd depending on your point of view.

My guess would be Coleus as well.

Does it have a square stem @CanadianLori? This is a characteristic of the mint family of which Coleus is a member.

I'll run back downstairs and look at the stem. ... hang on... yes, you're correct. It does have a square stem. I've never seen one this "solid" and since it is a coleus as everyone has helped identify, I know I can root these cuttings.

                      Thank you everyone!
