Hi all, moved into our new house at the end of July (2006)
The garden was well looked after but was a bit boring (lots of green conifers) believe it or not there is actually a pont in the middle of that bunch of conifers! so I planted a few perrenials in the summer. The pics below were taken in early Sept after some heavy trimming of the conifers.

Since the pics I have cut in a border the other side of the small retaining wall.

What I would like to do next summer is make the border under the 3 trellises much deeper, put a decking area to the back right hand side, behind the pond & maybe create a path to it, thus cutting the lawn in two.

Any other advice would be welcome.

    Here's the pics:

Well there's a reasonable chance of nobody falling into the pond!! :D

Looks very nice, r200. That's a rather nice yucca!

Re the proposed path - I'd suggest you make it wind, rather than be a straight one.

If you decide to do decking, make sure there's access to underneath to weed, as it can get very unpleasant under a deck, as I've found when I've had to deal with a nasty smell....

Thanks dendrobium, I will be doing a lot of planning before cutting in any paths.

I know it's not a big garden but it's cosy & I really want to make my own mark on it. I also need to build a wood & galv mesh cover for the pond before the little one is walking!
