Yes - can you tell by the great quality :)

We had just removed a holly bush, filled it in and levelled it out. the dog decided the area was his own personal sandpit and dug a big hole. I now have several shubs and perennials from harrogate flower show to go in there and the whole area is now fenced off and Freddy proofed whilst it settles!

Most of my garden will have green mesh fencing round it this year! -

I'm told a good firm "NO" does the trick. The difficult part is to find which language your dog knows the word 'NO' in. Arn't they just wonderful!

I always laugh when friends say "just tell him "no" " I mean I don't know where they got their dogs from but I'll have to go there next time. When I say "no" to Freddy you can see the cogs clicking and him thinking "ah that must mean it's really good - I'll go for it hell for leather!" :) "no" is just a red rag to bull ! Best go he is barking his head off :)

The only word which seems to work for 'no' with my daxi is 'biscuit' ..... he instantly stops whatever it is he's doing and scampers into the kitchen and barks at the biscuit tin .... Biscrok or Bonio's are his favourite!!

I must admit Winnie that Ed will only come back into the house at a rate of knots if I open the door and shout 'quack-quack'. He used to carry around a stuffed toy duck as a puppy and we always called it his 'quack-quack'. That is long gone but he still responds. And if you tell anyone about this........

HRH Guinness (who was my old avatar but I've mislaid the pic), responds well to 'sausage', but there again, she's the most well behaved dog in the world

Okay an update - Freddy's help this week:

Two small hebes in pots (chewed up and gone) - okay so they were pretty manky anyway
New Magnolia - one side of tree seriously lacking in branches and most flowers bitten off
Cistus - Flattened - oh well done some cuttings
    Dicentra x 2 - Halved - dito re cuttings
Petunia - Um where have all the flowers gone :)
    Newly planted Cosmos - Trampled
2 Large terracotta pots (smashed ) thanks Fred I can use them for drainage now :)
Hotlips cutting - eaten - oh well it wasn't doing very well anyway
Lawn - several holes in it - Taking the scarifying a little too far there Fred
Campanula - Eaten - oh well I have a few more.
Privet hedge - a couple of large holes in the bottom

Here he is the little scamp!

I have hundreds of annuals to put out yet

I have decided it's safety in numbers, the more plants I have the more that have a chance of making it!

    Love EGW x
