Only a suggestion. The Kodak info on your PC has become "corrupted"
Go to start>control panel>add/remove programmes and remove the Kodak programme.
    Re boot your PC

    Then reinstall the Kodak software.

The thinking is reinstalling the software as you did, it uses the previous installation as a reference, so the bit that is wrong stays there, and stays wrong. Removing it, and ALL of its parts means when you reinstall it after add/ remove should mean the "corrupted bit" was also removed

No G'Tee it will cure it though, but I had a similar problem with my Fuji camera software.

    A suggestion rosa.
Has your PC got a SD card reader?
If so try removing the SD card from the camera putting it in card reader slot and transferring your pics direct to your chosen PCs hard drive location.
I find doing it this way is very quick compared to any USB connection.
It bypasses any camera software and makes for less complications.

Hi Rosa I have Vista ,but XP is,nt that much different :) Have you tried going to(Click)on Control Panel and then (Click) on Hardwear and sound. Then you should see Auto Play Click on that and then you should see a List ,look down the list until you come to Pictures - ,Opposite this should be a small retangular Box where It should say (Import Pictures using Windows) this should be your default settings:) Let me know how you get on,there are many other things we can try, just by a process of elimination until we find the answer,or you can PM me if you want.Hope this might help:thumb::)

If the Kodak software is installed to run in the background when the computer is started up (this is how it is installed automatically)then it will automatically store the pictures in the public pictures folder under Kodak pictures. What i have done is blocked the easyshare program from running automatically as i found this and other programs were draining memory when i did not need to use them. To do this you type (msconfig) in the windows search box this will list a program called system configuration. Run this and select the startup tab. this will list all of the programs that will run when you start up your pc. On the list will be the Kodak program simply click on the tick box and click apply. This procedure will stop it from running on startup and you will have a small box appear saying windows has blocked some programs on starup when you next start up the computer. Once you have done this if you plug the camera into the usb the computer will list the camera along with the other drives Double clicking the camera will list its memory card and built in memory. Once you see these it is a simple task of drag and drop the pictures into any folder you like. Hope this is of some help.

The same happens if i plug my kodak camera into the pc. I have to go into the computer where it lists all the drives and copy them across manually. Any other device be it a camera, phone or usb drive the box appears giving me the option to transfer the pictures . Also the videos don't play on anything but the kodak program. What version of windows do you have i have vista premium. not sure if some of the updates may have affected it, i know the box used to come on with kodak cameras.

Similar computer to what i have then. You should have a look up Penshaw hill the views from the top near the monument are really good i walk up there most weeks. There is also a very nice tea roon and nursery at the bottom now.
