    Hi guys,

I'm new here, and am interested in all aspects of gardening. I thought you may like to see the pond I dug with my trusty spade and wheelbarrow in 2000.

I added three 1.25 inch mirror carp in 2000 and one died this year weighing in at 3.25 lbs. I also added 9 rudd which multiply each year.

I too kthis picture 2 years ago and things have moved on quite a bit since then.

Hi Rich, Welcome, great pond, your hard work paid off. How about some pics from this year as there must be quite a change now. :D

    Hi Rich
Very impressive - would love to have a pond like that but I think it would take up third of my garden at least! Look forward to seeing a new pic.

Yeah nice and natural looking, looks like its been there for years and years. I think thats the secret with ponds, unless of course you like the really formal types. [IMG]

Loved the night view of your pond rich.

I've set it as my desktop wallpaper and it looks fantastic.

    Thanks guys.

I have two problems with it.

    1. The Gunnera manicata will not grow bigger than about 2 feet. I dug it up in the winter and replanted it in a plastic sheet to hold water, but it hasn't made any difference.

    2. I've sprung a leak in the top pond. Weather permitting I will spend Sunday trying to discover where it is.

:( Afraid I cannot offer more than tea & sympathy Rich. That is a sad problem, I hope the leak doesn't turn out to be anything major. Had a look for the gunnera, but all it says is plant by the water & plenty of organic matter dug in. Some crowns need winter protection. Then manure or rich compmost top dressing in early spring, but I expect you know that from your fantastic pond. Ho hum no other ideas sorry. [IMG]
