    Hi Folks,
I'm feeling a wee bit down in the dumps, i took Holly to the vets last night because i discovered a lump on her knee joint a couple of weeks ago when she was having a bath, it's gotten bigger (about plum size!) just over the last few days so we thought it best to get it looked at, she's been taken in this morning for investagive surgery, i'm hoping it's not what i think it is, the vet said it looked very attached and she was unsure if it was a cyst or not, i'm sitting around waiting for the phone to ring, anyway just wanted to get it off my chest, i'll let you all know how she goes :(

Thanks all..........I'm happy to say we got her home last night all-be-it very woozy, the lump was tumerous unfortunately, her wound bled for quite a while last night and the poor lass has one of these cones on to stop her getting to the stitches, she keeps bashing into things, she's been sent home with painkillers and antibiotics but seems well within herself so for now so it's life as usual. she's got a bit of a limp and i'm getting the "what did you let them do to me eyes" but i'm just so relieved to have her home :)

    Hi Rouxbee,

Not one for getting worried until you are told there is something to worry about, but I am glad that you got your girl back, I wish her all the best.

Animals are so much more humane than humans are I find.

    All the best.

Thanks for all your kind words, we had a terrible night with her, i think the anaesthetic or antibiotics has upset her stomach, my hubby and i were on toilet duty just about every hour (worse than having a newborn lol) i tried to convince her to use a massive pile of newspaper a i put down, but trying to get a dog that wont even wee in the garden to do that was impossible :dh:
I'm going to take her back to the vets just to see what they think, her wound is still weeping a bit too. i'll keep you posted.

Hi folks, just an update, sorry i haven't been on before now, that thing called work got in the way :(

I took holly to the vets on thursday night, she got 2 injections, one to settle her stomach, one an antibiotic, her pills were also changed, her stomach is much more settled, though the wound is still weeping, so it's looking like another trip to the vets on monday if it's no better, she seems a bit better within herself though still not 100% hopefully these pills will kick in soon and she starts healing, i suppose because it's the knee joint it will take a while, i'll not do the gory thing and post a pic unless there's a vet in our midst :lollol:

I'll keep you posted as much as possible.

Hi Borrowers yes it was benign thankfully........although it was a tumour they didn't send it away as it didn't look like anything too nasty...... Today we've had her back at the vets, the wound was still bleeding over the weekend and now it's split open, so she's to go back in first thing tomorrow morning to have it restitched under anaesthetic again, poor thing she's hardly even grumbled either, i'm beginning to wish we'd just left it :(
