Good morning all. I used to kept my gardening diary, and now have wish and permission to make new one here. I have small cottage and smallholding in the hills above my town in Croatia. I grow all kind of veggies and fruit, and I spend all my free time there. My weather is just slightly different from yours in UK, summer is always quite hot and without much rain, but in these days everything is jumbled. To make a long story short, I hope to have a nice thread where I can show you what I'm doing, to receive and give some advice, and to have a pleasant chat with you all.

First I'll show you my land. This was few weeks ago, and by now I planted 20kg of onions and sow many other vegetables. I have one more major job to do, and it's planting 80 kg of potatoes.

This small field is just for tomatoes, peppers and few other veggies.

Here are few photos from last year.

And here are some of this year seedlings. I grow them all from seeds, it's much more fun than buy already prepared plants.

            Welcome Italics.jpeg Veggies.jpeg

Pleased that you joined the gallery. You have lovely soil ... unlike here in Algarve where we have red clay. This too is my diary ... since 2006!

My garden, quite small, is all tropical/sun-tropical. However this year I am trying Red Pepper and Pepperdew ... not successfully so far as slugs ate my first seedlings!

I look forward to following your progress.

I was amazed in the other Forum at how hard you work Ante, as you also work in a school, and the amount of vegetables you grow. I find my small veg patch enough work for me.

Good evening all. It was sunny and quite warm day, which I spent at cottage. For the first time I'm finished with planting and sowing so early in May. Everything is doing very well, and potatoes are already popping out from earth, around ten days after planting. I only left peppers and chilies for next week. Now few photos.

Onions. Must start with weeding, probably next week.

And I'm finished with sage for this year. @Tui34, I made sage syrup, it's perfect chilled in summer time. On the third photo is sage liquor. It must stay on the sun at least five more weeks.

Afternoon all. I'm finally back with few photos. Last two months were so busy, and high temperatures don't help at all. Photos are from small field where I have mixture of different veggies.

Hi Ante , great to see all your progress . As you know my Allotment is much much smaller than your holding, so I do admire the amount you do. Everything is very behind here I am only just beginning to get crops to eat.

Some fine looking crops there @Ante1.
You’ve a nice selection of veges there, too @Allotment Boy.
I’ve only grown tomatoes and a chilli plant this year, oh, and a few herbs on the window sill. The chillies are growing well (not many on the plant, but they are a decent size). The tomatoes are very slow to get going due to the weather. I’ve had 3 ripen outside and one is ripening indoors. Their skins (the 3 from outside) were quite tough, unfortunately, though the taste was good. I’m hoping the indoor one will be better. The herbs are fine.

I dunk my Tomatoes in hot water for a few seconds to get the skin off.....well
that's when they get around to getting ripe.
