My Staffie Ed or (when he's naughty) Egbert. Staffies get bad press mainly because of stupid owners who really wanted an American Pit Bull but can't have one. The worst you can expect from Ed is a VERY heavy lick. 'Where IS that biscuit you promised?' 'If I'd known grass was this good I'd have been a sheep' 'Come on. throw the ball. I dare you.' And Ed's best friends. The neighbours' cockers, Jarvis and Rosie. Well we love him. John.
lovely pics of Ed and his best friends, they are lovely dogs my friend used to have one and your completely right about some stupid owners why they get bad press, I have never encountered a vicious staffie, anyway he is gorgeous
John, Ed is gorgeous As a trainer i couldn't agree with you more. Sometimes i think it's the owners that should be on a lead not the poor dog's. Why not ask Linda to paint him, the one with him waiting for the ball would look great
I have to agree with Dizi the 3rd one is so very cute it just looks like Ed is smiling! :D Helen.xxx.
shame about the press and some of the stupid owners . my lab was set upon at 4 months old down the canal by a staff and yes youve guessed the owner was a sixteen year old lad who was to busy drinking his can of lager. so now ive got the friendliest dog in the world but when he sees a staff i have to hold on for dear life coz he never fogot and turns into a bear. shame that for every 30 dog owners theres alwasy one prat! ps seen the owner 2 days later without his dog revenge was sweet
Hi Intermiplants, Had to answer that one. Couldn't agree with you more. Although some dog's (individual ones) can be dominant agressive, it is the owners responsibility to train, train, and train somemore! As you said, for every 30 there is a prat. What is the point in having a dog if it can't be trusted? The owner may be happy (the % of prats of course) but the dog sure ain't. Havta say again, Ed is simply gorgeous :D
Hi John, just checked out your pics... He's gawjuss! TBH, I'm more of a cat person, I have two moggies at the moment, but I absolutely love Staff's. My Dad had one when we were kids, Angel, who died tragically. I think they can be so friendly, I love the way they 'talk', lol. Ed is really hansome. Mr Mac has an English that lives at his Mum's (cos of the cats) he's briz too. I've got a soft-spot for short haired dogs. I agree with everyone else whole heartedly about owner's responsibility.
Your Staffie is lovely, we have one too (Jack) , also a minature Yorkie. When I was scrolling through your pic's I nearly got away with telling my daughter that it was Jack, it nearly worked till she see that your Ed is not grey round the chin like ours lol. As Paula said above it should be some of the owners that should be on leads. I have always belived if you treat an animal with respect then they will be OK, our Staffie is such a baby and he's nealry 8 and we would never be without him. He is a rescue dog, and was all skin and bone when we got him, he is Lord of the Manor now though lol
what a lovely staffie ed is,reminds me of one of my bitches sophie ( gone now ) ihad her mother too tammy, they were dream dogs, easy to train, loyal ( short haired ) and soft as clarts, i miss them so much, but they lived a long time 13 and 14, and had a great life, ive inherited a border collie, ( ooo the hairs ) shes 11 now. still as fit as a fiddle :( wears me out,
