    Hello!!

    Hope you can help!!

I sowed some cherry tomato's as stated on seed packet. I put them in a heated propagator & most of them successfully germinated. I then moved them into a south facing cold frame, which I open daily if warm. It seems that since they have come out from the propagator they haven't grown at all. They are about 2 inches high with only two leaves & they look leggy & flimsy.

    Please Help!!!:help:

    King Regards

I expect it isn't warm enough at night and they have been "checked" - need a minimum night temperature of 10C to keep them growing, ideally. I'd put them on a windowsill or similar for a little while longer as yet, adn then harden them off before putting back out

    Thank you!!:D

They are abit leggy, wobble around & won't stay upright. Shall I repot them as they are still in original seed tray & compost from sowing? Can I do anything to make them more sturdy?

    Kind Regards

    :) Hi Bigbird
Transplant them idealy in single pots 3" immediatly as deep as possible, then you will have a fighting chance. Then do as Kristen says.

Yup, bury them up to the first pair of "seed leaves". I find that they survive the 3" pot without support, and I add a 24" "split cane" when I pot on to 5", and then a 4' bamboo when I pot them on to 9" - then they get a full sized cane (reaches to roof of greenhouse) when they get to their final 11" pot.

Make sure they have plenty of light - otherwise they will get "leggy" again.
