My veg patch

Thought I would share this moment with you all as it's looking so tidy at the moment. You are looking down to the bottom of the patch. Have just planted leeks & brassicas where broad beans were. These G/houses have toms etc in them.

 

With the help of children & grandchildren, also we have had it like this for 30 odd years, so it helps. We used to do all the work ourselves & still mainly do but their input is invaluable, & I try to stick to the old saying "one years seeding is 7 yrs weeding".

 

Yes the walls do retain allot of heat & we are blessed with beautiful loamy light soil.

a handful of family to help with the work &
3 generations of family to consume.

It is hard work but there is nothing like fresh from the garden.
We are blessed with the most wonderful light loamy soil that has been gardened for hundreds of years here. They were burgage plots many many years ago.
