My Wildlife ponds Frogs.!

    Well I thought I only had one frog.. Wrong I have six and a few, like 3, huge tadpoles.!

    I saw them all together in the pond once, Now with the warmer weather they are about in the pond more.. I am assuming my lone newt is still there, although not seen him this year. He has been there for quite a few years so not sure how long they live..

    Five little speckled frogs
    Sat on a speckled log
    Eating the most delicious bugs (yum yum)
    One jumped into the pool
    Where it was nice and cool
    Then there were four green speckled frogs. (glub glub)

      Lovely Marley,I do so love the way nature invites itself into a well loved garden:smile:

      As an aside we have loads of frogs on our allotment even though we personally don't have a pond.

        Just like, Kandy...I don't have a pond, but I have two frogs in the garden, during the day they hide behind and underneath the various pots in the garden, then come out at night where they split their time between hoovering up the slugs and sitting in the bird bath :)

          Marley, how huge are these tadpoles?
          I hope you haven`t got the American bullfrogs breeding there. They do a lot of damage to our native wildlife.

            Ah well no, not that huge.! They are just very big, bodies about the size of my thumbnail, usually any taddies I get are not that big.. :biggrin: :heehee:
