Does anyone know what this plant is? It's in front of a house in my street. My husband really likes it, and I'm keen to plant anything that will involve him more in the garden :)

    Thanks

I like Euphorbias but make sure he really does like it as once it's in it will stay in! In fact, if it knows you like it, it may well wander down the street to join you.

Thanks for the replies! @Silver surfer, what you said about the toxicity is a bit worrying given the one in the pic is hanging right over the pavement! I'm unlikely to be thanked though if I knock on the door and point it out (here in London neighbours can be very odd!)

It is not a problem if left alone.
It is the sap which is toxic if you pick it.

Many many common plants are poisonous eg Daffodil bulbs.
People have died thinking they were eating onions.

The RHS list is very informative..scroll down.

There are some interesting stories about this plant and its toxicity. You need gloves for sure. I had some here by my pond but have dug it up as it had spread. White latex type sap.
